Dear KLB

Last night as I viewed your "I Hear" poem and "Womie" song, I was utmost amazed and inspired by your talents. Wow, you have obviously been given a gift! Your ability to articulate thoughts with words, along with expression through video are incredible. I normally don't take the time to sit down an write a note, especially promoting someone I know nothing about or have never met, but last night I did. I took the liberty of forwarding your name to the "Ellen" show, with a suggestion I had for her show. Unfortunately, her online form only allowed 1500 characters, so it had to be short and to the point. I will send you a copy of that letter, if you wish, I only need an email address to send it to.

Best of luck to you in whatever you undertake and thanks again for opening a small window of yourself to share with others. I certainly enjoyed it.

Respectfully,

Mark

I am so speechless. My videos are an accompaniment to all the journals I've kept, all the things I've written and all the blogs I've maintain. I'm an ex-art student trying to cultivate a more creative life. Thank you for the time you took to view the videos and for the letter you wrote. Of course I would love to read it! I think that is so awesome. My email address is ken@kenlikebarbie.com. You can also visit me on my website kenlikebarbie.com.

Thank you again sir.

Ken,

Thanks for your reply today. I was excited to learn you are in the Chicago area, right in "my own backyard" so to speak. I am in the Region, NW Indiana (Munster). Perhaps we can meet up for coffee, a drink, lunch or just get together and chat sometime? It would certainly be my pleasure.

Like I said in my earlier email, Ellen's site is limited to 1500 characters and I do not know her personally to call, so needless to say, I had to be short, sweet, and to the point with this. Not sure it will lead to anything for you, but it only takes the right person to hear your plight and it can be life changing. Perhaps an avenue to help you fulfill your dreams, who knows?

I am a true believer that we are put on this planet to extend a hand and help each other out when possible, inspire ourselves and others to do our best, and motivate each other into tapping our talents and potential, which is why I was motivated to write this letter and mention your work. You took a risk that a lot of people would have never taken. You, "put a piece of yourself out there" for the whole world to critic. I admire that.

So here is a copy of the letter I wrote:

Ellen,

A while ago, I watched a show in which one your guest's was a young man who jumped cars. You used yourself as a catalyst, which offered him opportunities he may have never had, if it weren't for your intervention. The kindness and enthusiasm you displayed for his success that day, was genuine.

Tonight, while viewing some YouTube videos, I ran across this young man who happens to be right here in the Chicago area. His talent, creativity, writing (words), editing and mixing is absolutely captivating. If you have the time, please view them. My favorites are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQ0k_YyHRi8 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5S18r42bkc.

Ellen, the power of the "Internet" used as a tool to reach out to our youth (based on the election, financial contributions, and following of President Obama's campaign) can be highly effective and beneficial. Have you ever thought of having a segment (once a week or so) where people can submit videos for possible air? There would certainly have to be guidelines, perhaps addressing current issues, messages relating to public service, and offer solutions to help make our country or world a better place. Even just a poem like, Ken...like Barbie's, "I Hear" video, where he says without saying, "I get it"?

Best of luck to your continued success with your show. If you ever get to the Chicago area, "have your people, get with my people" and let's have a drink, lunch, dinner or just a phone call...LOL

Mark

Again, keep up the terrific work and never lose that awesome vision!

Respectfully,

Mark
